Any notable events or milestones?

---

This sports center hosted a youth badminton competition in January 2025. Many young shuttlers were able to participate in this competition. Before one year of this sports center this kind of notable tournament held here and it's really a milestone for this sports center. Prior to this, I had never witnessed a government-sponsored badminton tournament in our town.

I also took part in this badminton tournament. It was doulbles badminton tournament. My friend and I finished second in this tournament. It was our first major tournament, and we made it to the final, which was extremely rewarding.

Thana Nirbahi Officer and Upazilla Nirbahi Officers were the main guests who were invited, as well as some other upazilla officials who were present and helped to manage the tournament.

2 . Ownership and Management

Who owns or manages the facility?

---

This indoor sports center was built by some upazila officials with the help of government grants. As a result, it is a government facility in the Upazilla region, and the government owns it and has the full authority to operate it under their rules.

Upazilla officials who took on duties and handled finances during the construction of this indoor facility are currently in charge and have the authority to choose who is allowed to play in this sports facility. They also manage the cost of sporting equipment required to play sports here.

Leadership style or unique operational philosophy?

---

Those goverment officers who works on various posts in Upazilla Area they play the leadership roles here. There leadership style is simple and they are so friendly.

They allow players who are familiar to them and who do not have any bad habits, such as drug use. Players who had a job in the Upazilla area or who have government jobs were given more priority to play here.

Except for that, Upazilla officials give talented local players the opportunity to practice badminton, which is very encouraging. The officials also pay the price of badminton feathers. Their leadership style was very impressive.

3 . Exterior and Entrance

What does the building look like?

It is a four cornered building. The building is constructed from the ground up with brick walls ranging in height from around 10 to 12 feet, followed by tin structures. Actually, this sports center was designed specifically for badminton, so the building is quite tall.

Is it clean and accessible?

Yes, the sports center is clean and accessible. The caretaker always take good care of the sports center. He keeps it clean when anywhere in the indoor gets dirty. There is a dustbin in the sports center where all the dirty items are stored.

Are there signs, directions, or parking areas?

Parking area

Yes, there is a small parking area where you can leave your bikes, bicycles, or small cars. This small parking space is located inside the indoor sports center. But I saw the officers who came here by their car, and they usually park outside the indoor. Because there are many open spaces outside the sports center. This means you can park your car outside the indoor.

4 . Outdoor Areas (if any)

Are there fields, jogging tracks, open workout areas, or outdoor seating?

There is sufficient space inside the indoor to run or warm up before playing. So players don't need to go oustside. This sports center does not have a designated outdoor jogging area, but there are some streets where we can run, workout, or finish our warmup.

After working out and if it is a bit late to open the indoors, we can sit on the seats close to the facility. The seats are close to a pond and a short distance from the indoor area. There are benches all around the pond.

Cleanliness and maintenance?

The outdoor area is more clean and beautiful. I think the upazilla complex have some caretakers who maintain this place, otherwise it can be dirty. However, I am not sure how many caretakers work.

5 . Interior Atmosphere

Lighting, air circulation, temperature control.

Excellent lighting condition

This sports center has adequate lighting within it. We can play badminton and table tennis under the bright lights without any problems.

There are several windows in the spors center. During the summer, we kept these windows open to allow air to enter and keep the temperature somewhat cool.

Equipment condition and cleanliness.

Since the indoor center was only constructed a year ago, the equipment is nearly brand new. The caretaker here quickly cleans the badminton and table tennis courts if they become soiled from sand.

Crowd level and comfort.

The sports center is not much crowded. It only becomes crowded when a local badminton tournament or a government-sponsored tournament is held here. Because many badminton players and fans come here to watch the games. Othrwise only a few players came to play badminton here. We can play many matches with fewer players, and it is comfortable to play with a small group of players.

6 . Service/Product Experience

What services or classes did you try (e.g., gym workout, yoga session, boxing class)?

Table tennis	Badminton

Two sports that we can play here are table tennis and badminton. I played both of the games here. However, because I am more skilled at badminton, I prefer to play it over table tennis. I played my first game of table tennis here.

How were the trainers and staff?

This sports center is not staffed or equipped with a trainer. However, some experienced and talented local badminton players play here, and we can learn a lot from them. They are also very helpful in guiding us.

Was the environment motivating and supportive?

Yes, the environment at this sports facility is always motivating and supportive. The best players always encourage and guide the weaker players to improve their game. Senior players always inspire younger players.

7 . Supporting Facilities

Are there locker rooms, restrooms, water stations, changing areas, etc.?

There is no separate locker rooms, restrooms here. Keeping your belongings inside is quite safe, so a locker room is not really necessary. There are several seats or mini gallery inside the sports center where you can take rest.

Benches and chairs

There are water supplies near the sports center, and the caretaker always keeps water in the water bottles that are kept inside the sports center, so that the players can drink water whenever they want and avoid dehydration.

Yes, all the features are described above is functional and clean.

8 . Programs and Services Offered

Fitness programs, martial arts classes, personal training, tournaments, or community sessions?

Local badminton tournaments and government-sponsored tournaments are held at this sports center. These tournaments can significantly help us improve our badminton skills. I have participated in both types of tournaments. Both tournaments have a reward system to keep the players motivated.

Family, kids, or senior citizen programs?

Families and children of Upazilla government officials can play table tennis or badminton here. Senior citizens who simply enjoy playing these sports are encouraged to participate in any of them. But no badminton tournament or progarm have organised for them. However, this program could happen in the future.

9 . Transparency and Communication

Are the membership plans, pricing, and rules clearly displayed?

The membership plan is not included in this new sports center. If the number of players grows, this plan could be implemented in the future. However, the decision is up to Upazilla officials.

No fee needed to play badminton or table tennis here. Table tennis equipment is available at no cost. You only need to bring your badminton gear while playing, and there is no charge for badminton feathers. Playing without the expense of badminton feathers is an incredible experience for me.

There are no rules, but the leaders always allow players who exhibit good behavior, have no bad habits, obey their seniors, and are talented players.

Are safety guidelines and schedules well-communicated?

The seniors always suggest players to play safe. A few weeks ago, a player was so tired that everyone was willing to leave the game because they were concerned about his health. I appreciated the Upazilla officials' safety concern.

The upazilla officials communicate effectively about the sports center's opening and closing times. They call and inform us about the schedule of playing. We also call them to ask about the schedule. We had a pleasant relationship with the leaders.

10 . Additional Notes

Use of eco-friendly practices (e.g., solar-powered lights, recycling bins).

There are some solar-powered lights next to the street of the sports center so that players can walk on the street even if the town has a blackout.

Special features like virtual training rooms, meditation corners, recovery areas, etc.

There is a small club next to the sports center. Many senior players enjoy it when local singers sign here. They also hangout at this club. There was a television in the club, which was another source of entertainment. But I don't like these fascilities near the sports center. It may distract the players from their game.

But I really like that there is a mosque near to the sports center. Players are welcome to offer prayers in the mosque before or after playing games.
