Bireuen Deputy Regent Delivers Regent's Opinion on Draft Qanun on Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJLSP).
Deputy Regent of Bireuen, Ir. H. Razuardi, MT, presented Regent H. Mukhlis, ST's opinion regarding the Draft Qanun (Ranqanun) for Bireuen Regency on Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJLSP), Thursday, July 17, 2025, in the DPRK meeting room.
Deputy Regent Razuardi, in the second plenary session of the third session of the Bireuen DPRK for the 2024/2025 session year, presented the general views of the Bireuen DPRK factions on the four Draft Qanuns for Bireuen Regency and the Regent's opinion regarding the Draft Qanun on TJLSP.
"I welcome and fully support the issuance of the Draft Qanun on Corporate Social Responsibility (TJSLP). This Draft Qanun is an important milestone in realizing sustainable, equitable development that supports the interests of the wider community, especially in Bireuen Regency," he said.
The Draft Qanun on Corporate Social Responsibility (TJSLP) serves as a legal umbrella that regulates the active involvement of companies in regional development, not only through economic contributions but also through social awareness and environmental preservation.
"We can no longer view business activities solely from the perspective of financial profit; we must also consider their impact on the surrounding communities and the ecosystems in which the company operates," he explained.
I believe that corporate social and environmental responsibility is not an additional obligation, but an integral part of business ethics, and with this draft Qanun,
"We hope to achieve synergy between the government, companies, and the community in promoting inclusive development. Transparency and accountability in the implementation of Corporate Social Responsibility programs can be improved," he said.
He also conveyed that equitable development can be achieved through corporate contributions in education, health, community empowerment, social infrastructure, and environmental preservation. Companies have clear direction and guidelines for developing and implementing CSR programs tailored to local needs.
The Deputy Regent also outlined several points or articles that require attention. He will also ensure an effective, collaborative monitoring and evaluation mechanism, in accordance with the duties and functions of the draft qanun, for the implementation of this draft qanun.
This will ensure that companies not only fulfill their administrative obligations but also provide tangible benefits to the community, especially to all stakeholders, especially businesses operating in Bireuen Regency.
This draft qanun is expected to become a shared moral commitment, not just a legal obligation. "Through close collaboration, we will be able to build a developed, prosperous, and sustainable regency," Razuardi concluded.
